Schenectady County Public Library, Duane Branch, After School Program

Planned and implemented after school enrichment programming, programs includes story telling, crafts and guest speakers.

Schenectady County Public Library, Duane Branch, Window Display

Displayed community members collections, recruited neighbors to loan their collections to the library.

Schenectady County Public Library. Duane Branch, Tutoring

Tutored elementary and middle school students at the library in all subject matters.

Schenectady City Parks Department

Coordinated community wide park clean up event at 2 local parks located in Mont Pleasant, worked closely with Parks Dept. and the Sch’dy Boys and Girls Club. Contacted local media, distributed fliers to local business and neighbors, requested donations of food and paper items from local business owners. Event had 38 children and 15 adults participate.

Communicator Newspaper, Local paper served Hamilton Hill, Mont Pleasant and Central State Street neighborhoods.

Wrote two feature articles about African American History in Sch’dy and Local Woman who have been influential in the city.

Hamilton Hill Forums

Was actively involved in attending meetings to gain information on how I could better serve my community.

Yates Village Consortium

Attended monthly meetings to gain knowledge of community issues and local service providers.

Yates Village Community Day Informational Fair

Coordinated an event at Yates Village which hosted several area community agencies: Including Maternal Infant Health, WIC, Law, Order and Justice, SCAP, SJTA and several others, provided games and food. Event yielded 100 residents

Parents Involved in Education, Van Corlaer Elementary School, Schenectady

Provided education to parents and daycare providers on the dangers of SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrome, planned implemented the entire lecture.

Created and keep current Missions Website, assist in home visits to ensure happy adoptions and conduct interviews of perspective "new parents". http://janedemartino.tripod.com

Good Samaritan Lutheran Adult Home

Volunteer with elderly residents, do room visits, particpate in parties and coffee talk with residents.
